There are several different kinds of employment services out there but each kind of employment service makes it their mission to help people find jobs and to help people find work. Government employment services are employment services that are operated by governments. Many state government departments of employment have state employment services and some city governments operate an employment service or job service program. Some non-profit organizations operate employment service programs and job service programs. Some non-profit employment services specialize in helping members of certain ethnic communities find work. Most employment service and job service programs offer resume and interview workshops, pre-employment preparation programs, basic skill training, work-based training, and job placement services. Some employment service programs may specialize in helping women find work while others may specialize in helping young people find their first jobs.
