In order to find people to buy, sell or trade goods or services, many people will choose to go to a market. Markets are usually physical stores or designated areas in which vendors can bring their products and sell them to consumers who pay using currency or trade. Vendors may sell a variety of products, although the most common are food products. Historically, markets have been places where citizens can mingle and exchange ideas as well as goods and services. Large food markets, also called supermarkets, have largely replaced smaller community markets as the most common way for people to purchase food products.
