Mobile homes are usually much less expensive than site-built homes, and can be an excellent solution for first-time homebuyers. Mobile homes are housing units that are manufactured in factories and then transported to the location where they will be occupied. While the term “mobile” can appear to imply that these homes can move around, normally they are placed in one location after manufacture, and remain there for the life of the structure. However, they can actually be moved, certainly a great deal easier than structures built onsite. Some mobile homes are purchased outright, while others are rented and occupied by tenants.
