Music publishers may publish only one type of music. A music publisher may only publish music by classical musicians, or publish only rock and roll music. Other music publishers may only publish music of one particular instrument, such as piano or guitar. Many music publishers are known for publishing in one area, just like book publishers. Some music publishers may accept unsolicited submissions from musicians, while other music publishers may not. Most music publishers work directly with music stores or dealers to distribute their published music. When published music goes out of print, a music publisher usually will no longer stock or carry that music.
