When planning music and live entertainment for your function, first consider what type of music would be appropriate. Live bands are great for formal weddings and bar mitzvahs, for instance. Target bands that have experience in those types of functions and get references. Check out any videos of prior performances as well to get a feel for the band and its style. Most DJs, vocalists, instrumentalists, and live bands will have a promotional packet for you to review before hiring them.
