Many newspaper publishers belong to the Newspaper Association of America (NAA), which represents the $55 billion newspaper industry in this nation. NAA members account for nearly 90 percent of the daily circulation in the United States and a wide range of non-daily U.S. newspapers. Many newspaper publishers also belong to a newspaper publisher's association local to their state or region. Some states have their own newspaper publisher's association, such as California, Oregon and Pennsylvania. There are also newspaper publisher's associations that serve more than one state, such as the Southern Newspaper Publisher's Association, or that cover specific market segments, such as the National News Publisher's Association, also known as the Black Press of America, which is a federation of more than 200 black community newspapers from across the United States.
