People who want to package items efficiently might not want to ship ten small objects separately to the same location – just does not seem practical. However, when small objects like software sent singly, one might want to package the product in a larger package to make theft more difficult. Packaging material might protect the item from physical force, rain, heat, sunlight, cold, pressure, airborne contamination and automated handling devices. There may be some packaging available that includes anti-theft devices, such as dye-packs or electronic article surveillance tags. Some common packaging material might be aseptic packages, bags, bales, blister packs, boxes, cartons, molded pulp and wrappers.
