Packing for a household move can turn into a difficult endeavor without the appropriate materials. If you are going to hand pack your items on site, you will need to obtain different sizes boxes, depending on the materials being packed, the size of your freight truck, and the distance of the move. Local moves can perhaps lend to less particular packing methods, and you may be able to crate the majority of your household items in corrugated cardboard boxes. You may even consider bagging up durable materials to make for easier unloading at the opposite end of your move. If you are moving long distance, however, you will need to pay close attention to crating and labeling all of your household items, and perhaps even prepare some items for shipping. Many moving companies will be more than happy to give you advice about packaging, and will also suggest ways to best hand pack breakable items.
