Parachute Jumping Instruction
People who are interested in parachuting as a recreational activity should seek a school that offers the training courses that they need to develop proper techniques and understand the safety concerns. Finding a school that has experienced teachers can greatly increase the safety of this sport. When you call a parachute jumping instruction school, you should ask them what types of lessons they offer. Some of the schools will begin your training with static-line jumping. Static-line gives you the opportunity to practice your jumping skills without skydiving from an airplane or helicopter. After getting this training, many schools will give you the extreme sport training that you need through tandem instruction. This means that you will learn by jumping out of a plane or helicopter while attached to an instructor who can pull the chord and put you safely in the drop zone if you cannot do it yourself. After you have gotten some experience, you can get the extreme thrill of free-fall and swooping in the air on your own. Ask the parachute jumping school how long their instructors have been teaching people to jump out of planes and land safely with a parachute. If the instructors have taught students for several years, then they should have the training that they need to teach you too. Ask the school what types of courses they offer. Choose one that you think will prepare you best. You should also ask them what their rates are so you can decide if their lessons are affordable.

People who might be interested in taking a parachute jumping class could be dreaming of falling from out of the sky from over 10,000 feet, at speeds of 129 mph. Nevertheless, can people really do that? Some instructors say “yes” with only 30 minutes of ground training. Tandem jump might be an excellent way for a person to experience his or her first jump because a person may just want to try it once, or a person may want to see what it is like before he or she takes the big solo jump of their life. Accelerated freefall might the most popular parachute jumping instruction ever. Usually takes 5 – 6 hours ground training to learn all the basic skills required to solo skydive. Apparently after the person's first dive from 10,000 feet or higher, he or she only has to do 8 - 10 more supervised jumps to truly go solo.
