How to find or choose pies
Pies are baked dessert items involving one or two pieces of crust with filling in the center, usually containing fruit, meat or vegetables. Whatever your use for pies, they are a very popular dessert choice, as well as a comforting main course. Some are served hot, like chicken pot pie, while others are served chilled, such as lemon meringue. Still others are sold frozen, and you can heat them up later. You can buy pies at a retail grocery store or bakery. Many bakeries open very early in the morning and offer a fresh selection of pies throughout the day. If you’re looking to make your own pie, you can find crusts, toppings, and fillings at your local grocer.
