Powder Coatings
Powder coatings can be used on various things in the home, which is why there are contractors available to apply an application with an industrial grade spray gun. This can save you time and have a finished product in no time. A specialist can work with you to determine the colors, textures, and gloss level you want and how durable each type is. While the best protection may be the most expensive option, you may find that since it will last longer, you won't have to reapply a powder coating as often as you would with a cheaper application. Many contractors will come to your home or commercial office building to perform their service, while others may have a shop that you can take the item to for them to have plating or resins applied. By having it done by a professional contractor, you may find that by having an industrial grade spray gun they are able to get the job done much faster than if you were to do it on your own. They will have their own system to do the work that they supply for themselves instead of you having to buy expensive equipment. Construction companies will also have various tools and pieces of equipment that can manage powder coating. To find a powder coating service company you can search the internet or in a phone book to find local contractors. Compare prices and ask about their system and how long they have been in business. Make sure they work with either residential or commercial homes depending on where you need the service done.

Powder coating is applied via a three-step process. The first phase of the process is pre-treatment, which begins at the receiving area. The product then passes through pre-hanging, cleaning/treatment, oven drying, and a masking area. The purpose of pre-treatment is proper identification, cleaning, treatment and preparation of the substrate. The second phase is powder application. The powder coating at this step is simply powder and you can actually blow it off the part or brush it off with your finger. In the final phase of curing, the powder will bond with the substrate and achieve all the properties and characteristics required. In curing, the product is heated in an oven to the correct temperature, for the required time, dependent on the mass and powder type.
