Sailmakers also make historical reproduction sails for historical boats, such as square and trapezoidal sails, staysails, square sprite sails and the like, often made to the specifications of the vessels period in history. Sails categorized based on their function include mainsails, foresails, jibs, storm jibs, and spinnakers. Sailmakers make spinnakers in several different styles, including horizontal cut, radial head cut, and tri-radial cut spinnakers.
