Only those awards that fit your profile are identified as matches. You should also speak to the financial aid office of your current school, as well as the schools that you wish to attend. To find small local scholarships and financial aid that aren't listed in any book or database, look for notices posted on bulletin boards at your school's guidance office, the public library and outside the financial aid office at nearby colleges and universities.

Unfortunately, not all offers of scholarships and financial aid are legitimate.
