Ship builders and ship building companies specialize in building ships. Most ship builders build ships in ship yards. Some ship builders specialize in building military vessels while others specialize in building commercial vessels. Some commercial ship builders specialize in building a certain kind of commercial ship, such as a supertanker builder. Companies and nations that need ships order them from shipbuilders. When ships need to be repaired or need maintenance work, they go to ship repair services or to ship yards to be repaired and worked on. Some ship yards are naval ship yards where Navy ships are repaired and worked on. Other ship yards are where commercial vessels such as cargo ships, fishing vessels and tanker ships are worked on and repaired.
