Vehicle tags are required by law for automobiles and many other vehicles that people use, such as motorcycles and boats. A vehicle tag shows that the car's registration is up to date and that the car met all required laws needed to drive that car on that date. Vehicle tags need to be purchased when a person buys a new vehicle and usually have to be renewed every year before the anniversary of that first purchase. When purchasing or renewing a vehicle registration, a person may be required to buy new tags to put on their car, as well as new license plates and additional stickers that may be required to have on their windshield or other area of their car.
