People who wish to attend a screening of a recently released movie will often go to a movie theatre or cinema. After purchasing a ticket, moviegoers will then enter a theatre where the film is projected onto a large screen at the back of the auditorium. Traditionally, movie theatres consist of a large auditorium containing rows of seating similar to a stage theatre. Many modern theatres offer various refreshments and other amenities to enhance the movie-going experience. Many cinemas offer more than one theatre, commonly called a multi-plex, which allows the public to choose from a wide variety of movies.
