Vertical blinds and mini-blinds are often used instead of, or in addition to curtains as a means of decoration and to keep sunlight out of a room. Vertical blinds are only available for longer windows, such as sliding doors. Mini-blinds are usually available for windows of all sizes. The length of the individual blinds on Mini-blinds and vertical blinds varies as well, usually from one to two inches. There are many different brands and styles of vertical and mini-blinds, some are more for decorative and privacy purposes and do not block as much light, while others are very thick and very capable of blocking out excessive sunlight.
