How to choose or find zoos
Zoos are theme parks where animals of all kinds are on display, often in their natural habitats. Most of the animals are wild, such as bears and lions, while others are more docile and could be considered pets, such as birds and pigs. Children and adults can observe wild life within a safe environment. The animals are usually kept in some type of enclosure such as a cage to keep themselves and the public safe. These enclosures typically resemble the animal’s natural home, such as a tropics or the forest. Many zoos include small petting zoos as well, which are places where children and adults can pet certain docile zoo animals like goats and lambs within a confined space. Food for the animals is usually provided for a fee, and animals can eat right out of your hand. Zoos can be a fun adventure for families, or act as great corporate outings. Many zoos are open during the winter holiday season, to showcase animals, lights, and seasonal activities. Whether you love the aviary or want to visit some animal babies, zoos are the place for you. They may also feature beautiful gardens, ponds, rides, and dining amenities. Stay the whole day with your kids, or buy a half-day family ticket. Kids are usually admitted at a lower price than adult visitors, so be sure to inquire about this. Sometimes, rides and safaris are offered at an additional price. If you are looking for a great family outing, consider making a trip to a local zoo.
