There are a number of different types of zoos, varying widely in size and quality. Some are major tourist attractions with enormous collections of animals from around the world kept in enclosures that attempt to replicate their natural habitats. Others are drive-through parks, sometimes called wild animal parks. Still others are small roadside menageries with concrete slabs and iron bars. Another type of zoo, commonly called a petting zoo, is extremely popular with young children. Petting zoos feature a combination of domestic animals and some wild species that are docile enough to touch and feed.
