Household appliances have changed the way homes are run over the last several decades. Gone are the days when cooking and cleaning duties took the majority of time in family life. The mass production and gradually declining costs of these items made them more and more accessible to average families. Today, almost every household owns several small and major appliances. Kitchen appliances are functional and add to the beauty and value of a home. Stove tops come in a wide array of choices. Electric, gas, and flat range options are available. Faucets and other items may be chosen in many finishes. Cooks may choose any of these based on appearance or preference in food preparation style. Small items such as plastic blenders and food processors are also functional and come in custom colors. These items can be purchased to go with the color scheme of the kitchen. Washers and dryers continue to evolve and improve each manufacturing year. Current front loading options are popular because of their large capacity, ease of repair, and energy saving features. No special electrical adaptations are necessary when installing these appliances. Parts are also easily available on newer models and are more accessible to shops than older models. Electrical water heaters are standard in all US homes. Most homes also currently contain central heating and air conditioner units. Part of contemporary society is our easy access to major and small appliances. These items have changed society as electrical availability and easy to repair inventions have steadily been offered to consumers. These items have allowed more and more individuals to seek work outside of the home as demand for daily tasks has decreased.
