  • Straight Razor - This is a traditional blade normally used to shave beards and mustaches.   • Shears - The standard implement when talking about beauty parlors, shears are used to manually cut and trim hair. There are a few variety of shears - pinking shears reduce the amount of fraying when cutting, while thinning scissors are used to shape a hairstyle.
  • Clipper - An important tool in many beauty salons, a clipper's job is to remove hair quickly and closely. This tool is often used to shave heads close to the skin, but can also be used more lightly.
  • Pomade - A gel used often by men to achieve a certain hairstyle. Many barbershops sell pomade and can use it after cutting to hold the hairstyle in place. Pomades are also sold for home use.
