Tips on Bridge Clubs
Use these following tips to find a bridge club near you:

Tip #1: Get a listing of local groups.
Contrary to what some may believe, bridge clubs are not getting together and plotting to build bridges. Instead, they are playing the intense card game of bridge. It is a highly popular game that attracts many followers all around the country. Chances are there are at least one bridge club in your area, and probably many more if you live in a city. Get a listing of bridge clubs close to you by using Magic Yellow or by checking out the websites of national bridge organizations for local listings.

Tip #2: Decide on your competition level.
Why do you play bridge? Is it because you are retired and use bridge as a way to get together with your friends? Or do you play because you are competitive in nature? The reasons why you play bridge will affect how well you get along with a bridge club, and how well they get along with you. If competition is more your style, look into joining a club that hosts tournaments and offers prizes. If you play bridge for social reasons, choose a club that is more relaxed.

Tip #3: Make sure you know what you are getting into.
Before joining a club, make sure you know what is expected of you. Do you have to pay money to be part of the bridge club? Are you expected to host bridge games at your house? As with finding the right competition level, these are also important considerations to make before choosing a bridge club.

Many people enjoy playing card games like bridge, but sometimes it can be difficult for them to get their friends together regularly. If you like the entertainment that playing bridge offers, then you should consider joining a card club that can give you access to online, convention, and regular games. Depending on where you live, you might be able to find bridge and other card gaming clubs listed in the online directory for your city. If no card gaming clubs are listed there, then try doing an Internet search. When you find an organization that you are interested in joining, you should ask them several questions to make sure that it is the right one for you. First, you need to make sure that they play the same card game as you. Ask them what types of contracts, decks, supplies, hands, counts, and scoring the group uses so you can make sure they are duplicates of the entertainment that you enjoy. If they play somewhat differently, then you should find out if they offer lessons so that you can learn how to play the card game with them. Ask the clubs if they supply the card decks, tables, and other supplies for doubles play or if someone will have to bring them. You should also find out if they charge members fees for joining. Depending on how serious you are about playing the game, you might not want to spend much on this form of entertainment or you might be willing to commit a fairly large sum.
