  • Eave - Where the side wall and roof meet on the edge of the building.
  • Gable Roof - A type of roof that has a peak with one slope on each side. Each slope is the same angle and the roof is symmetrical.
  • Gambrel Roof - A type of roof that has a peak with two slopes on each side. The upper slope will be shallow while the lower slope will be steeper.
  • Monolithic Construction - A method of creating the foundation for a building by combining the concrete and floor slabs. This is a design that is best used in warmer climates.

One may specialize in residential pole buildings, while another may focus more on commercial or industrial projects. Many offer all three types of services, along with agricultural buildings as well. In most cases, customers can design their own floor plans, get free estimates or quotes, apply their own color scheme, and obtain financing. Many pole building providers sell construction kits for handy consumers to put together on their own. These companies may also sell roofing materials and supplies, posts, house plans, and general construction supplies. Services offered may range form sales and service to installation and repair.
