Popular Terms for Child Care Preschool
You will probably want to talk to several childcare centers and preschools before you decide which one you want your kids to join. Some of the daycare centers that you speak to might use words and phrases that you haven’t heard before. The list of key terms below should provide you with the background knowledge that you need to communicate with the preschools in your community so that you can choose an option that works well for everyone in your family.
Child Development Association – The CDA licenses daycare workers that have proven they have the education and skills that they need to work with kids, including infants. They should have some experience with early childhood education that allows them to assist young children with subjects such as reading and verbal communication.
Speech pathologist – Some kids have difficulty forming certain sounds. Speech pathologists provide exercises that can help children develop their speaking skills. These professionals should have Master’s degrees showing that they can assist children with a variety of speech disorders.
CPR certification – CPR certification shows that a person has been trained to provide assistance to children and adults that experience cardiac arrest. Many daycares hire workers with CPR training to offer their children a higher level of service and protection after parents have dropped them off.
Respite care – If you have a child with a disability, then respite care can give the caregiver a break to recharge. Instead of daily services, respite care is used whenever the parent needs a break.
