So many parents require the assistance of child care services at some point or another. These services often include preschool, daycare programs, babysitters, and at-home nannies. Fortunately there are plenty of child care providers that are trained to care for infants, toddlers, and small children. This often means watching out for them, helping them play, preparing meals, and even assisting them with social skills or learning arts and crafts. Depending on the child care facility, educational daycare program, or preschool center, different types of assistance may be available for small kids. Check out the list of helpful key terms found below.

  • Kindergarten – This is a school or educational class that helps prepare five or six year old children for first grade.
  • Social Development – The development of a toddler or small child’s social skills and ability to interact well with others.
  • Licensed Nannies – These are child care professionals that are licensed to care properly for infants, toddlers, and children, typically in the home of the child.
  • Daycare Program or Center – A facility that specializes in childcare and watching infants, toddlers, and kids of various ages, while the parents are busy or working.
  • Preschool – A type of daycare facility or learning program that comes before kindergarten and is often for children ages five and under.
  • Babysitter – An individual that is hired to look after a baby, toddler, or child while the parents are occupied or working.

    Child care services provide busy parents with a safe place for their children to stay. These service centers may also be called daycare centers or preschools, and they offer kids of all ages a home away from home. They also offer these kids the supervision of qualified nannies and babysitters. If you are a parent in need of a childcare service, you should do some research before you send your infant or toddler anywhere. Go online and research the programs offered by a few of these daycare centers. Make sure that all of the nannies and babysitters who work at these schools are qualified childhood development professionals. Check to make sure that they are licensed care providers. You will also want to make sure that they have years of experience working in a similar school, daycare facility or social education center. Once you've done some research on the men and women who will be taking care of your kids, start to compare the different activities offered at these child care centers and preschools. Does one center offer supervised play time? Does another offer free meals? Does a third offer arts and crafts activities and learning project? Do these daycare centers offer these services for children of all ages? Perhaps they only provide activities for children who are at least in kindergarten? Consider these questions before you make your selection. Be sure to ask your care providers for references before you drop your child off at their facility. After all, you want to make sure that your kid will be as well cared for as possible!
