Tips for Visiting a Comedy Club
The following are some tips for visiting a comedy club:

Tip #1: Decide on a Type of Comedy Club
When deciding on a comedy club you first need to consider the group that will be visiting the venue. Not all comedy clubs are ideal places to take children. If you and your friends are looking to have a few drinks, keep in mind that not all places have a bar. Discovering this fact once you are inside could put a damper on the evening. You will want to know beforehand what kind of comedy the club typically provides. Most comedy clubs are known for their standup acts, but other venues may have improv nights and even sketches performed by theater groups.

Tip #2: Consider the Costs
The cost of your ticket will probably not be the only expense involved in visiting a comedy club. Most visitors like to enjoy food and beverages while taking in the show. Also, a lot of comics sell shirts, CDs, and other souvenirs.

Tip #3: Plan Ahead
Whenever possible, purchase tickets in advance. This is particularly important for shows being put on by a more well-known entertainer. Some comedy clubs are small places, so make sure you know exactly where the event is located. Scouting out parking spaces beforehand is also a good idea.

Tip #4: Act Appropriately
As with any live event, you want to be sure to show proper respect to the performers and your fellow audience members. Make sure all cellphones and other noisy devices are turned off. Try to keep conversation to a minimum. You might not find every joke the comic makes funny, but you should not show that person any disrespect. If you cannot laugh, at least applaud at suitable moments.

Comedy clubs are great places to go see stand up comics, but they are also frequently used as nightclubs that host variety shows that feature funny stand up comedians, music by famous bands, singers, and solo musicians, and dances. They also usually contain bars where someone can get drinks while they are enjoying the music and stand up comedians. In order to get into a comedy club that has famous celebrities, you will need to contact their tickets sales office. When you contact the sales office, ask them particulars about the club and there upcoming entertainment events. Find out if the club fits into the nightclub or bars category. Ask them if they have musical acts and what other types of shows they have coming up in the near future. You might have to call several comedy clubs before you find the comedy, dance, and musical acts that you want. When you do find a show that appeals to you, make sure they still have tickets left. If the show is being put on by big stars, then they might sell out quickly. When you are ready to purchase your tickets, ask them where the venue is located, what time the doors open, what time the first act is expected to take the stage, how much the tickets cost, and where you can park. Depending on the town that you live in, you might want to find off street parking or ask if they have valet services at the club.
