Computer equipment dealers are responsible for supplying computer devices in business settings. They will provide the necessary hardware and software components to connect to the internet, network and communicate within and outside of the workplace. While helping employees are troubleshooting equipment, specialists will need to have strong communication skills and follow certain protocols to decipher the exact problem that is occurring before making the necessary adjustments and repairs.

  • Motherboard - The motherboard is the central circuit board that makes up a computer. This device is responsible for connecting a variety of components, including the memory card, disk drive, keyboard and display screen.
  • Computer Configuration - A computer configuration describes the way a system is set up. This includes both the hardware and software and focuses on the equipment and programs used to optimize performance in the workplace.
  • Microprocessor - The microprocessor is the part that controls the logic in computer systems.
  • Data Processing - In the world of computers, data processing will convert data into meaningful information. For example, workers will submit raw data into a computer program and through data processing, it will be broken down into relevant statistics.
  • Operating System - An operating system, or OS, is a software program responsible for managing computer files and processing instructions.

If, however, your hardware is completely shot, or you're dealing with a major tech problem, you may have to purchase a new computer after all.
