Concessionaires
Visit any stadium, fair, ball game, or festival and you will find concessionaires selling yummy treats and fun souvenirs from their carts and trailers. They are often lined up along a sidewalk, or along a promenade within a stadium, selling from a truck, trailer, or cart. You can buy hot dogs, cotton candy, soda and popcorn from such concessionaires, also called mobile vendors. Concessionaires, people who own or operate a concession stand, may have catchy slogans to get you to buy, urging customers to indulge. Concessionaires may sell different things at different events from mobile carts to portable machines. You may find many mobile vendors at sporting events selling hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, and even beer at baseball games, for instance. They may be fixed within one spot with a cart, or they may travel through the stands with portable coolers and the like to distribute their products. Concessionaires can rent their equipment and mobile machines or buy it outright. They may need various pieces of machines in order to sell their products well or operate a catering business. An ice cream vendor, for instance, will need a cooler that can keep ice cream, pops, and other retail treats frozen. Popcorn vendors, on the other hand, will need a popcorn popping machine and all the supplies, such as butter and boxes. Many concessionaires accept cash only, as it’s quick and easy to deal with. They must have a license to operate, whether they sell their items out of a trailer at a carnival, or from a food cart at an airport. Even mobile trailer concessionaires need a license. Concert and game goers may also be presented with the option of purchasing treats from a vending machine, which requires no one to operate it. Simply feed bills or coins into the slot and choose your beverage or snack.

Concessionaires are people who own or operate a concession stand, whether on the street, at a carnival or fair, a community event or other public place. Some concession stands offer a single or large array of food items. Concessionaires sell such items as popcorn, hot dogs, candy, corn dogs, caramel apples, juices and drinks, cotton candy, cola, soda, burgers, shaved ice, ice cream and fries and other snack items. You can find concessionaires at sporting events, theater lobbies, malls, a trailer or portable cart, parking lots, fairs, airport, public parks, building windows and on city sidewalks. Each concessionaire is an independently owned company or business. Concessionaires are typically represented by national associations, groups that support the food and beverage concession industry. Concessionaires are often seen at baseball parks and other sports events, children's events, large conventions, cafes, and basically wherever there is a crowd. Commercial concessionaires must have the proper licensing for equipment including signs and truck and tents and popcorn popper, retail license, contracts and cooking machine equipment such as a trailer in order to operate a concession stand in a public place. To find concessionaires, look in your local phone book or check online directory listings. Using the Internet, type in key words outlining your requirements to return a list of related companies. In determining their amount of experience, ask the companies how long they have been in business. Ask them for references in determining their reliability. Ask them what levels of customer service they can offer you. So whether you are looking to buy a trailer, procure a cotton candy machine rental, or you want to buy snack food, ice cream or other concessionaries, make sure you choose the concessionaries company that will work for you.
