Terms to Know About Counseling Services

Counseling services are available to treat all different ages of people from children to adults to overcome mental health problems.   • Psychiatrist – A psychiatrist is a medically educated and trained professional who receives extra training in how to treat mental disorders. The doctor level of training and education is higher for a psychiatrist than that of a certified counselor.
  • Directive Counseling – In this form of counseling, the counselor directly assists their patients to make decisions and gives them advice on choices.
