To emboss means to adorn or decorate with a raised design. Embossing is especially great on paper, such as with rubber stamps for scrapbooking. This technique is achieved using a variety of simple tools, such as paper cutters, die cutting machines, dual head embossing tools, metal and paper templates, and boards. You can purchase kits online or in craft stores. Such kits contain everything you need to emboss, from patterns to ink to flocking powder. Also available for sale are embossing systems, many providing a no-cord, no-plug solution. These devices may feature textured full-page patterns with 3D perspectives so you can really get creative with your rubber stamp project. There are a variety of supplies out there you can use to engrave your craft project. Learn how to dry emboss with brass embossing stencils, use foil for extra shine, or use dies to really make your creation pop. You can head to a local craft store to take a free workshop on these and more techniques, or check out tutorials online. Embossing has become more and more popular over the years as scrapbooking has taken off. Scrapbooking involves placing scraps of memories, such as pictures, letters, and other small mementos, onto a decorative page using stamps and ink. Journaling is another popular way to document your memories for future enjoyment. On a larger scale, laser embossing machines are employed within printing shops to achieve the desired raised effect on letterhead and other printed documents. If you like to emboss or engrave your crafts such as cards to customize them at home, you may want to have an embossing tool or two on hand to help you out with this endeavor.

Ask them if they have the tools to work create custom stamps for metal foils, paper, tiles, and other materials. Ask them if the have the dies that they need to color the images as well so that they will really stand out as something important. Getting the images and materials that you want is important, but you will also need sealants to protect the materials.
