Flannel - A sometimes cheap, but very warm fabric. Flannel shirts often have a checkered print pattern. Under garments can also be made of flannel.
Yard - A unit of measurement. You can typically buy different fabrics by the yard. A yard is equal to 36 inches or 3 feet.
