Important Terms to Know about Fishing Tackle
The following terms could help you decide what kind of fishing tackle and services will work well for you:

Sinker: A weight that goes on the end of a fishing line. This pulls the lure down into the water. Sinkers come in various weights that can help control how deep the lure sinks. Since many fish live at specific freshwater and saltwater levels, it is important to choose an appropriate sinker for the kind of fish you want to catch.

Waders: Waders are waterproof pants that help fishermen stay dry in the water. Many of them use suspenders so they do not restrict the fisherman's movement. That also means one size will generally fit the average person. Some waders also have chest protection that keeps more of the body dry.

Fly Lures: Artificial bait used while fly fishing. There are literally thousands of different designs, many of which are supposed to mimic the behavior and appearance of prey. This attracts fish and encourages them to take the bait.

Killing Fly: An artificial fly lure that is extremely successful at catching fish.

Reel: A mechanical device attached to a fishing pole that allows the fisher to lengthen and shorten the fishing line. While reels are not a necessity, the vast majority of fishers use them because they offer much more flexibility than fixed-line poles.

Angling Lines: Cords that connect the fishing poles to their hooks. Angling lines vary by breaking strength and knot strength. Fishing for bass, for instance, does not require as strong a line as fishing for marlin. Using the wrong kind of line could mean fish escape after they have taken the bait.
