Flower Species to Consider When Ordering from a Wholesale Grower

You haven't fully planned your wedding until you've chosen the flowers. Since floral arrangements are a significant part of your wedding day, you can benefit from seeking out a grower or wholesale florist. You can even work with many online. This can cut out additional costs, and you'll also have more direct access to a wider variety of flowers beyond the traditional rose. Before you can make an informed decision about your wedding flowers, consider the following popular varieties and their costs.

  • Orchid - The orchid species is so vast that it's double the species of birds on the planet. They are a distinguished flower, easily recognized by minimal petals in a variety of colors and distinguished stamen. Some orchids can be quite affordable when bought in bulk, while others can be incredibly costly.
  • Gerbera - The gerbera is a popular, vividly-colored flower looking like a cross between a daisy and a sunflower. The gerbera makes a wonderful cut flower and is in the same price range as the traditional rose.
  • Hydrangea - This flower grows either on a bush or tree and is recognized by its pink, white or purple clusters of blooms. Buying these from a wholesale florist will be slightly more expensive than previous varieties, but you tend to need fewer stems with the hydrangea.
  • Peony - Peonies are a very large flower that grow on bushes. They are often called the pom-pom flower, because of their volume and size. These come in a variety of colors and can be more expensive depending on the time of year they're being purchased from the grower.
  • Silk - There's always the option of buying silk flowers online in any of these varieties. Silk flowers may be more expensive, but they are not as difficult to maintain for your event and will last a lifetime.

Nothing is more beautiful than a bouquet of flowers. Flowers make the perfect gift for any occasion. And they're a lovely design statement, as well. So, if you're looking for a gift for the plant lover in your life, or even if you'd just like to find something nice for yourself, consider stopping by your local florist's shop. When you visit your florists, you'll undoubtedly find many varieties of flowers. You'll find roses - roses always look so elegant! You'll also find carnations, orchids, and many a lily. Some florists even keep tropical flowers and other growers in their stores. These plants and flowers come from a variety of sources. Many may come from a nursery - a nursery is place to buy young flowers and plants. others may come from a farmer's garden or an online supplier. Still others may come from wholesale flower sales, and may have been bought in bulk. Be sure to ask your florist about the grower who provided the flowers you're interested in buying, because you'll want to know where it came from. You can buy these flowers for just about any occasion. They're great for weddings - they make wonderful wedding centerpieces. They're also appropriate for funerals. You can also buy arrangements and baskets for your own home, to brighten up your decor a bit. Most florists will be happy to deliver whatever you decide to buy to your home - or to the home a friend or loved one - for you. And, if you buy in bulk, they may even be willing to give you a bit of a discount!
