Often, they have a stream of water coming out of a raised figure and landing in a small pool. Another common style has water running down the entire back panel of the fountain, giving the appearance of a flowing wall of water.
  • Waterfall – A common feature in backyard ponds. A waterfall is created by pumping water to the top of a series of rocks and allowing the water to fall into a pond. Since waterfalls are typically attached to outdoor ponds, many are operated by solar powered pumps.
