The term hauling refers to the process of moving or transporting general objects from one place to another. Hauling is used in both residential and commercial settings. The objects transported can be almost anything and are shipped by land, air or water.
A moving service is used by some people who will rent a truck to haul furniture to a new home, others will have items transported by a professional company. Some hauling companies may pickup and collect trash, garbage and other refuse. At a construction or demolition site, scraps, garbage and debris will need to be moved and hauled to a landfill or junk yard. Those who work at chemical plants must manage waste and ensure that it is hauled away and disposed of properly. The following are various general hauling terms.
Construction Hauling - Because a construction site has a lot of debris like rock, gravel and wood, a hauling service in needed. Dump trucks, cranes and various other construction equipment is used to move building materials like gravel, framing products, concrete and landscaping materials. Trash collection services are often needed at construction site to haul refuse to landfills.
Freight - Freight is defined as the goods that are transported between locations. These goods are carried by a vessel, courier service, messenger or vehicle.
Logistics - Logistics involves the planning and managing of the transportation of goods from one place another.
Courier - A courier is someone who is responsible for the exchange of items between two parties. They may need to transport packages, important documents, mail or other important items to various clients. Courier services provide pickup and delivery service on bicycles, but vehicles are also used.
