These saddles do not have horns and have been designed to give the horse a full range of motion. That makes these designs useful for anyone taking jumping lessons. They are also typically used during most horseshows, but you won’t find them at a rodeo.
  • Haute Ecole – In French, this phrase means “high school.” In the horseback riding world, though, it refers to skills that experts use when showing off their horses in demonstrations. You can take classes in haute ecole, but you probably won’t use the skills while riding a horse on a trail or even in competitions.
