Countless women and men appreciate different types of jewelry. This industry offers a wonderful selection of diamond engagement rings, gold necklaces, and silver earrings. While some jewelry is geared toward wedding events, other items are for anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day. As you may know, there are various precious stones and metals used in this business. Below you will see some key terms and definitions that apply to this grand industry.

  • Titanium – This is a very hard, silver-gray metal that is part of the transition series. It is lightweight, strong, and corrosion resistant. Titanium is commonly used to make rings, knife handles, and various other products.

  • Platinum – This is a precious metal that is silver in hue, and has the chemical element of atomic number 78. It is used in various types of custom and commercial jewelry, and is generally more expensive than silver and gold.
