A monument is any building or megalith surviving a past age that is regarded as having historical and social importance. They are often erected in memory of a person or event.   • Obelisk – These iconic landmarks are raised as an acting symbol that honors nations or their leaders. The Washington Monument is one example of an obelisk. They represent nationalism and a strong sense of the country where they’ve been erected.
