    A pallet, sometimes called a skid, is a structural flat crate used for the transportation or storage of manufactured goods. Mostly used in warehouses or shipping yards, pallets and skids are hoisted by steel forklifts and other types of jacking equipment to store. When used for transport by truck, a wooden or plastic pallet is wrapped with its cargo for to ensure security on the road. Pallets and skid crates come in many dimensions, sizes, and materials, but there are two main types of specifications. The first is a stringer pallet, also known as a two-way pallet. These are composed of three pieces of wood called stingers and can be steered by a jack from two directions. Secondly, there are block pallet that are more durable and can carry heavier manufactured cargo. These can be lifted four different ways.
