Glide Through the Skies with Parasailing
Since before Icarus, man has wanted to fly like the birds. While this is achievable with airplanes, it somehow doesn't have the same effect as parasailing. With this recreational ride, the wind blows through the hair as one feels like he or she is gliding almost effortlessly over the water. This fun activity is often done while on vacation to exotic locations.
The sport of parasailing was invented in the 1960's when Piere Lamoigne attached a parachute and line to a car. Parasails were first used with boats in the 1970's. Originally, riders stood on the shore before being lifted, but eventually the first motorized platform was introduced. The first winch boat was created, built with a special winch that pulled the parachute back to the boat for safer landings. In response to the rise in popularity of parasailing, the Parasail Safety Council was introduced to keep the sport as safe as possible.
The modern method of parasailing is includes attaching a harness and parachute equipment combination to a tow rope. This tow rope is then anchored onto a winch boat located outdoors. The vessel is chartered for an hourly rate either by a group or a single rider and a passenger is secured within the harness equipment which hangs down. By moving the boat at high speeds, the parachute lifts the passenger into the air, creating a feeling of gliding. The vessel tours around for an allotted time and then gently slows down when the ride is over so the passenger glides gently down to safety. While the passenger descends, the line is pulled in so the rider doesn't land in the water.
Parasailing is a recreational activity where a person is towed by a boat while attached to cable equipment and a large parachute. This water sport is a popular pastime at beaches and harbors. Parasailing rides are usually offered at discounted rates when more than one person join in. Depending on the weather, the parasailer enjoys a spectacular view of the surrounding beach and ocean, rides, equipment, weather, water, sports, outdor, vessel, services, brands, exotic and while getting some good clean outdoor fun. Many people take advantage of parasailing while on vacation. Some companies offer charter packages. Some parasailing companies also offer other excursions, such as snorkeling, paragliding, expeditions, surfing, boat tours, and cruises. You can find parasailing companies in the phone book or by searching online directory listings. Usually the best place to find them is right on the beach. Inquire about hourly rates, group rates, locations, safety precautions, and availability. Usually parasailing adventures are affordable, especially when you sign up a whole group of people at one time. For a bit more money, you can enjoy a personalized charter, sports, outdor and more. Whichever method you choose, whether parasailing or outdoor paragliding, group or individual, parasailing companies can accommodate you.
