For most guys, getting ready for a 21st birthday or other over-21 party doesn't involve a lot of advance planning. A couple trips to the liquor store may be their idea of serious party planning. But once a significant other gets involved, strange new party terms like "favors" and "décor" become commonplace. But there's no reason why a regular guy can't step up and help pick out supplies for special events like a birthday or anniversary party. But for those fellas who no idea what a unity candle is, here are some terms to learn.
Buffet Service - This is the catered event where the guests serve themselves from a buffet line. Anyone looking for cost cutting ideas should consider a buffet service over table service.
Centerpieces - An essential piece of wedding reception décor that most men don't spend much time thinking about. Centerpieces are the flowers placed on each table at the reception. They are sometimes given away as wedding favors.
Home Helium Kits – These are those small helium tanks that are sold at party planning and discount stores. These tanks aren't usually refillable.
Party Favors - Small gifts given to party and wedding guests. Some common wedding favor ideas include small boxes of candy or pictures of the newlyweds.
Served Meal or table service - A catered occasion where the wait staff brings food directly to the guests' table.
Table Skirts - Here's another one of those party supplies most guys never think about. Table skirts are the curtain like fabric that's draped around tables to cover any items stored underneath the table.
Vendors - Anyone who sells goods or services to a person planning a party.
