Private schools can be great options for many students. They often allow greater specialization, and may teach a certain set of religious or cultural values in addition to traditional academic material. Familiarity with different terms can assist parents and students in selecting the best private school for their needs.

  • Independent Study - A program which allows students greater freedom than traditional programs. Working closely with a faculty supervisor, students may design and carry out a unique and independent program of study.

    Although the price tag is higher than public schools, private schools offer an advantage to students in frequently smaller class sizes, religious education, boarding, and uniforms. Private schools, privately-owned educational institutions, differ from public schools in that tuition is required. Students typically wear uniforms, as opposed to street clothes. Whatever specialty you choose, such as sports medicine, international business, or biology, private schools can help you attain that degree you've been reaching toward. On the other end of the spectrum, there are private preschools as well. The price is payable in full, or in monthly installments throughout the year. In some private schools, boys and girls are segregated. Sports may be offered for children, as well as multilingual instruction, art, and extra curricular activities.
