Choosing an Education Plan For Your Children

As a first-time parent, watching your child head off into kindergarten can be a difficult experience. To help make your child’s voyage into the educational system smoother, it is important to have a firm grasp the options available. Below are the various types of institutes, some of which many parents may not be familiar with.

  • Public School – An instructional system that is paid for by the local, state, or federal government. This options allows children to proceed from elementary, middle, and high school without any sort of tuition. This is the choice most parents pick because their children get a quality education without incurring an additional financial burden.
  • Charter School – An academic system that receives government funding like public institutes, but is not restricted to the same educational guidelines. This type of schooling formed by a group of parents and educators who found fault with how traditional classrooms are ran. A charter school can be geared towards a certain line of study, such as the arts.
  • Prep School – Short for university preparatory school, this option helps groom students 14-18 for college. Most of these are private. These systems often work with a host high school so that their students not only receive a diploma, but also have an improved chance at getting into a specific university.
  • Private School – An elementary, middle, or high school that is run entirely on non-govenment funds, such as tuition and donations. These academic systems can be either secular or religious. Most Americans cannot afford to put their children through private schools and there is no proof that students learn a better curriculum.
