Service Stations Gasoline and Oil
People head to gas station pumps when they need fuel for their vehicles. Some gas stations double as service stations, which are businesses where mechanics service, repair, and refuel automobiles of all kinds. They may also sell oil for consumer use, or provide oil changes for customers. Customers can pay by cash or with a credit card. Also called gas or filling stations, these full or self serve stations feature garages, with one, two, three, or more bays. This is where the work is done, from inspections to tire rotations. Cars can often be seen up on hydraulic lifts, getting serviced by qualified mechanics. Service stations must meet minimum state and local safety standards regarding inspections and smog emissions testing. Some are small and locally owned, while others are large chain companies that have several locations offering standard and commercial services, along with natural gas delivery. Outdoor signs announce the price of various grades of gas such as diesel fuel. Many service stations have storefronts that double as superettes, selling food and other refreshments. Many sell all types of fuel, from kerosene to petrol to propane tanks. They may even sell ethanol or biodiesel fuel. Many offer natural gas and home heating oil delivery, or act as LPG filling stations. Some of the larger gasoline and oil service stations stock certain brands of tires and car parts for consumer convenience. Qualified mechanics can repair, check, examine, and fine tune cars and other vehicles, all at varying charges. Some are cheap and affordable, while others may cost a lot due to the parts needed or difficulty of the job. The next time you need a full gas tank, have a flat tire, or require a tune-up, stop at your local service station or look up listings online.

Sometimes service stations are called filling stations. Drivers bring their vehicles to these service stations for gasoline or oil. Not all service stations sell the same grade of fuel. Some customers are attracted to discount gas service stations with convenience stores. Other service stations may offer diesel and premium petrol. Lastly, some mechanics work at service stations to do tune ups and smog checks for commercial vehicles. You can find service stations to help you change a flat tire by looking in the telephone book. Nationally owned service stations are also listed in online business directories. When you need a full tank of gas for a road trip, find a service station with the brand of oil and gas you trust.
