Below are some tips to help you shop for studio space for classes or creative projects:

Tip #1: Visit Studios
Before booking time at any studio, visit the space to check out the atmosphere. Whether you are teaching a class, editing a movie or recording music you want a space where you feel comfortable getting your artistic juices flowing. Pay attention to lighting, temperature and layout in the space. Also, if you'll be spending a lot of time there, consider amenities like bathrooms and kitchens.

Tip #2: Size Matters
Make sure a studio has enough space for you to do your work comfortably. Smaller art studios may work for lone photographers or portrait painters, but dance and yoga classes require more room. Picture the dimensions of the studio before renting and consider how the area is laid out.

Tip #3: Consider Equipment
If you are renting a studio for painting, sculpting or photography work you may need to bring most of your own supplies. However, recording and film studio spaces should have the equipment you need for either recording or editing.
