Terms to Know at the Supermarket

Whether you are hosting a black tie party or just making dinner for your family, your local grocery store or supermarket will have what you need. A supermarket typically offers everything from office supplies to food and clothing while a grocery store specializes mainly in food.   • Confections – Confections are foods that are made from a considerable amount of sugar such as candies, chocolate and sweets.
  • Slotting Fees – Supermarkets strategically arrange the food on their shelves to promote certain products. A wholesaler can pay a slotting fee to get the prime eye level shelf space for their canned goods, meat, dairy, bakery items or other product.
