While cell phones are the primary communication option for individuals and business professionals, many companies also need landlines installed. Telephone equipment and systems dealers specialize in both of these services. Dealers will have technicians go into an office setting and set up telephones and other computer equipment and devices. Depending on the services offered by a company and work environment, they will go with a specific dealer and require certain equipment and accessories. For example, when employees spend much of the day on the telephone, headsets will need to be set up to facilitate incoming and outgoing calls. A business will also need to have wireless technology and mobile equipment, including routers and modems which supply the technology. Other communications systems may include pagers, intercoms, voice answering systems, digital media, fax machines and switchboards. Technicians are responsible for installing the network and connecting cables to establish communication lines within the office and outside world. A company will also call technicians to come in and make repairs.
