Tennis instruction can begin when kids are able to swing a racket and follow instructions from a coach. As children continue to play and improve their game, they can go out for their school team or attend an academy. An academy will offer players instruction from a pro and lessons will be offered all year long. Opportunities are also available for children and teenagers to receive instruction at tennis camps and play in tournaments as they grow up. Camps offer players a chance to go through drills and receive expert training. Adults who want to start or who are experienced players can find courts at tennis clubs or warehouses.   • Forehand - A forehand is a shot that is hit from the player's strong side. For example, right handed players will hit a forehand shot with their right hand, and left handers with their left.
  • Ace - An ace is when the opponent cannot return a player's serve.
  • Fault - A fault is a failed serve attempt that lands outside the service court. If the server swings and misses a serve, it is also considered a fault.
  • Love - In tennis, love means zero points. If a game is scored 30-love, it means that the player who is serving has scored two points and the opponent is scoreless.
  • Serve and Volley - Serve and volley is a style of play where the player who serves attacks the net in order to volley the return shot without letting it bounce.
  • Unforced Error - An unforced error is when a player loses a point because of their own poor judgment or bad play.
