The term trailers is applied to a wide variety of recreational vehicles. They provide living quarters while traveling or camping, so instead of relying on a tent or hotel rooms, you can sleep in the trailer. Traditionally trailers were hooked up to the back of the family car for vacation. Now, modern trailers like motor homes are their own vehicles, and you can hitch the family car to the back of this trailer.   • Folding Camping Trailer – Provide living quarters for camping. The components are folded down while the trailer is moving. Once it is time to set up camp, the parts are popped out. Usually this type will have some type of bed, cooking area and bathroom.
  • Teardrop Camping Trailer – Made from fiberglass, this type of trailer gets its name from its teardrop shape. Smaller than a folding trailer, it usually contains a bed, storage and place to plug in electrical appliances.
  • Travel Trailer – This trailer is larger than the other camping trailers and usually takes a truck to haul it. It is made of fiberglass and offer more spacious living quarters than the smaller camping trailers. They also have tented awnings for outdoor areas. Because it can be parked in campgrounds it is also called a park trailer.
  • Fifth Wheel Trailer – Trailers similar in style to travel trailers, but with an additional wheel placed over the carriage to allow for better maneuverability and turning.
  • Recreational Vehicles – Sometimes called RV's or motor homes, recreational vehicles are the ultimate in traveling and camping luxury. They are shaped like buses but designed like travel trailers so that they provide living quarters to the occupants.
