Terms Related to Turbine Manufacturers
The following are some terms that are related to turbine manufacturers:

Anemometer: An anemometer is a device that is used to measure the speed of the air within a wind turbine.

Controller: A turbine’s controller is the device that tracks the speed of the blades. If the speed goes too high then the controller automatically turns the unit off.

Cut-in Speed: The cut-in speed of a turbine is the minimum velocity the blades must reach in order to produce electricity. This term mostly applies to wind turbines.

Dump Load: Dump loads are installed by manufacturers to ensure turbines do not damage themselves by producing too much electricity. After a turbine’s battery is full all additional electricity that is produced is sent to the dump load for removal.

Generator: The generator is the part of a turbine that turns kinetic energy, or energy of motion, into electrical energy.

Grid: The grid is the system that all of the electricity created by a turbine is sent to so that it can be exported to individual homes and businesses.

Tail: A wind turbine’s tail, which is large and flat, is used to line the rotor up with the wind.

Tip Speed Ratio: The tip speed ratio of a turbine is determined by finding that ratio between the actual speed of the wind and how quickly the equipment’s blades are turning.

Transformer: A transformer is a piece of equipment that alters an alternating current’s voltage.

Watt: A watt is a unit used to measure electrical energy conversion. One kilowatt is equal to 1000 watts.

Wind, electric, steam pressure, impulse, transonic, and reaction turbine manufacturers will work with builders and technicians in order to create windmills using modern technology in order to create energy in order to replace the use of gas motors. Some companies may specialize in creating airfoil designs while others will have better experience making turbine blades. To find turbine manufacturers you can search online or in a phone book. Call and ask about their pricing and how long it would take for them to create a wind or any type of turbine you're looking for. Some companies may only create one type while others will have builders and technicians that have experience building various types of turbines. You will want to go over the design of the wheels and blades to ensure that it is efficient in order to make electricity. Many companies are trying to find ways to use wind to make electricity for homes and businesses by using a renewable resource. Look over the technology a manufacturer uses and go over any questions you may have on how the machine works. You will need to hire operators that understand the technology as well as ensure that the turbines have lifts to gain access to them. Talk with several manufacturers to see who you would prefer to work with. Ask to see examples of their previous work to get a feel for their style. Ask how long they have been in business and how much research they have done in order to know what the most efficient way to make energy is by using their design.
